Each tenugui is handmade using the traditional chusen pouring-dye technique by Fujioka Dyeing Factory, an established dyer whose history dates to the Edo period.
Long beloved by ordinary people, tenugui are useful outdoors and during a variety of tasks.
Use as a head wrap, towel, decorative piece, curtain or waist wrap.
Because it folds more compactly than a towel, it is being rediscovered today as a portable wiping cloth.
This version features the popular Shika-Bancho kanji logo.
