Shipping policy

Shipping charges are automatically calculated based on the weight and dimensions of your order. We select a shipping carrier based on factors such as the destination, package size, weight, cost, and availability. We may use FedEx, DHL, UPS, Japan Post, or another suitable carrier.

When a tracking number is available, we will email it to you after your order has been shipped.

Please contact us if you have a preference for a particular shipping company. Additional charges may apply depending on the carrier and destination, but we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Import Duties and Taxes

Since our products are shipped from Japan, import duties, taxes, VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, and other import-related charges are imposed by the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.

These charges are not included in the product price or shipping charges paid to us. They may be collected by the shipping carrier upon delivery, or you may receive an invoice from the carrier or the relevant customs or tax authority.

The applicable duty and tax rates, as well as customs procedures, vary by country and may change over time. If you require information about the applicable rates or charges, please contact the relevant customs or tax authority in your country.

While it may take some time, we can also research the applicable information for you upon request. However, the final amount of any duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, or other import-related charges is determined by the relevant authorities in the destination country, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any estimated amount.

For more details, please see this page.

P.O. Boxes and Nicknames

We do not ship to P.O. Boxes for international orders.

We require customers to provide their full legal name for international shipments. If a nickname, alias, or abbreviated name is provided, delivery may be refused or the package may be returned to us.

If a package is returned to us because an incorrect, incomplete, abbreviated, or unofficial name was provided, you may be responsible for the return shipping costs and any other costs incurred as a result.

Changing the Shipping Address

If you need to change the delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible.

If the new destination has a different shipping cost, you will be responsible for paying the difference.

Additionally, if you request a change to the delivery address after your order has been shipped, the shipping company may charge an address-change or redirection fee. Any such fee may be billed to you.

We cannot guarantee that an address change will be possible after shipment.

Special Shipping Fees for Remote Areas and Remote Islands

If you live in a remote area or on an island, your destination may be classified by the shipping carrier as a remote or extended area subject to special shipping rates.

Our system does not allow us to set individual shipping rates for every remote area or island in every country. Therefore, the shipping charge shown at checkout may not always include additional remote-area fees.

If, after you place your order, we determine that your shipping destination is subject to a special shipping rate, we may contact you regarding the additional shipping charge.

If the additional charge cannot be agreed upon, we reserve the right to cancel the order.

Safe Shipping of Fishing Rods

Because fishing rods are long and prone to breaking, they are susceptible to damage during shipping. For this reason, we generally ship fishing rods separately from other items.

We use specially reinforced cardboard packaging to ship fishing rods. We also fill the interior with cushioning material to minimize the risk of damage during transit as much as reasonably possible.

Reinforced cardboard packaging for fishing rods

North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, etc.

Compact Rod: JPY 6,000 (approx. USD 40)
Bait Rod under 200cm: JPY 9,000 (approx. USD 60)
Spinning Rod under 200cm: JPY 11,000 (approx. USD 74)
Rod with Large Guides: JPY 13,000 (approx. USD 87)

Central/South America, Oceania, Central Asia, Africa, etc.

Compact Rod: JPY 6,900 (approx. USD 46)
Bait Rod under 200cm: JPY 10,350 (approx. USD 69)
Spinning Rod under 200cm: JPY 12,650 (approx. USD 85)
Rod with Large Guides: JPY 14,950 (approx. USD 100)

These amounts are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, shipping carrier, package dimensions, weight, and other shipping conditions.

When purchasing multiple rods simultaneously, we will calculate the applicable shipping cost at checkout.

For example, shipping one bait rod under 200cm to the United States may cost approximately USD 60. However, purchasing two rods together may result in a combined shipping cost of approximately USD 86. Therefore, purchasing multiple rods together may offer better value.

About Pre-Order Products

New products that have just been announced may be available for pre-order. Pre-order items will be shipped as soon as possible after the product is released.

If your order contains a pre-order item, the entire order will be shipped once all items in the order are available.

If you would like us to ship items that have already been released first, you will need to place separate orders for those items.

Alternatively, after placing your order, you may request that the already released items be shipped separately by paying any additional shipping costs required for the separate shipment.

Multiple Orders May Be Shipped Together

If you place multiple orders before we ship them, we may combine those orders into a single shipment.

Combining orders can help reduce shipping costs and may also simplify customs clearance.

Any shipping savings achieved by combining orders may be provided as store credit for future purchases at our shop.

If you prefer your orders not to be combined, please contact us before the orders are shipped.

Cancellation Fee

If you cancel an order before it is shipped, a cancellation fee may apply.

The cancellation fee may be up to 20% of the total order amount, depending on the costs already incurred for the order.

These costs may include transaction fees charged by the shopping platform, payment processing fees, and costs incurred for procuring or preparing the product for shipment.

If a cancellation is accepted, we will refund the amount paid after deducting any applicable cancellation fee and other non-recoverable costs.

Delivered but Not Received

If the carrier's tracking information shows that your package has been delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact us as soon as possible.

Before contacting us, we recommend checking the delivery location carefully and confirming with family members, household members, neighbors, building management, or others who may have accepted the package on your behalf.

You should also contact the carrier directly to confirm the delivery details and request an investigation if necessary.

If the package was left unattended after delivery and is subsequently lost or stolen, we are generally unable to provide a refund or replacement. In such cases, we recommend contacting the carrier and your local police department to report the incident.

However, if the carrier confirms that the package was delivered to the wrong address or was otherwise mishandled during delivery, please contact us with the relevant information. We will review the situation and provide reasonable assistance where possible.

Any resolution will depend on the circumstances of the case, the carrier's investigation, and applicable laws and regulations.

If Your Product Is Damaged

If your order arrives damaged, it may be eligible for compensation under the shipping carrier's applicable procedures. Depending on the circumstances, a replacement product or refund may be available.

We carefully package and ship our products. However, fishing equipment and other items may occasionally be damaged due to significant impact during transportation.

If you receive a damaged item, please keep all delivered items, including the damaged product and all packaging materials. Do not discard the product, packaging, delivery slip, or any other related materials.

To process a damage claim, the shipping carrier may require the damaged product and packaging materials for inspection.

Please take clear photos of the delivery slip, the damaged product, and all packaging materials, and send them to us as soon as possible.

We will contact the shipping carrier and request an investigation into the damage.

When the carrier conducts an investigation, they may contact you directly. Please coordinate a date and time with the carrier and provide the damaged product, packaging materials, delivery slip, and any other materials they request.

The shipping carrier will determine whether the damage occurred during transportation and whether compensation is available under its applicable rules.

If the carrier confirms that the product was damaged during transportation and compensation is approved, we may, depending on the circumstances, resend a replacement product or issue a refund.

If you are unable to cooperate with the carrier's investigation or cannot provide the requested product and packaging materials, we may be unable to process a replacement or refund.

Please note that the investigation and compensation process may take some time.

Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)

For destinations where DDP service is available, we may be able to arrange for applicable customs duties and import taxes to be paid in advance on your behalf.

If you would like to request DDP service, please contact us and provide your order number. We will check whether DDP is available for your destination and calculate the applicable amount.

If DDP is available, we will provide you with the applicable amount and payment instructions before shipment. These charges must be paid in advance before we ship the order.

The advantage of using DDP is that, when properly arranged, you can pay the applicable import charges in advance rather than paying them to the carrier upon delivery.

However, DDP availability and applicable charges depend on the destination country, shipping carrier, product, and applicable customs regulations. We cannot guarantee that DDP will be available for every destination or order.

Refusal to Pay Customs Duties or Import Taxes

If an order is returned to us because the recipient refuses to pay applicable customs duties, import taxes, VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, or other import-related charges, we may be unable to provide a refund.

Depending on the destination country and shipping carrier, a refused shipment may be returned, abandoned, or disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations.

If a shipment is returned to us, we may incur additional costs, including return shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, storage fees, disposal fees, and other carrier or customs charges.

Any costs incurred by us as a result of a refused or returned shipment may be deducted from any refund that we are able to provide.

Please note that, unless DDP service has been specifically arranged, the payment of customs duties and import taxes is generally the responsibility of the recipient. Once the order has been shipped, customs clearance and the assessment and collection of import charges are handled by the relevant customs authorities and shipping carrier.

If You Believe the Customs Duties Are Too High

Customs duties and import taxes are determined by the customs authorities in the destination country. The applicable amount may depend on factors such as the product's tariff classification, country of origin, declared value, and the regulations in effect at the time of import.

If you believe that the duties or taxes assessed on your shipment are incorrect or higher than expected, please contact the shipping carrier or the customs authority in your country and ask about the applicable procedure for requesting a review or correction.

If payment is required before the review can be completed, you may need to pay the assessed amount first and then request an adjustment or refund through the applicable procedure.

Please note that the procedure for disputing customs duties and requesting a refund varies by country and shipping carrier. Any refund or adjustment is determined by the relevant customs authority or other responsible authority and is not guaranteed.

Because our company is based in Japan, our access to the latest customs information for every country is limited. However, we will provide reasonable assistance within our capabilities when possible, including providing relevant product, invoice, and transaction documentation that may be required for a customs review.

Ultimately, the final determination of customs duties and import taxes is made by the customs authority in the destination country.
