Punch shot rigs have excellent fall speed and penetration because the sinker pulls the line and worm straight  into the water regardless of line resistance. On the other hand, because the sinker and worm try to slip through  the cover at the same time, they are less snag-resistant than Texas rigs. The Beans sinker has a shape that is not  easily affected by the line, excellent fall and cover penetration, and slips through cover like a Texas rig  by detaching from the sinker, achieving high snag resistance.
