Long-selling standard solid whetstone

Comes with a plastic case that can be used as a sharpening stand.

The black surface of the blade is the world's first whetstone with colors corresponding to different degrees of coarseness.
The convenient storage case can also be used as a sharpening stand.
Can also be used as an oil stone.

Precautions when sharpening

1. Before sharpening, soak the finishing stone in water (5-6 minutes).
However, soaking it too long will soften it and cause the surface to become soft.

2. It is best to sharpen the finishing stone as quickly as possible.
To do this, it is important to prepare the blade and sharpen it properly.
Generally, start with “Orange (1000)” to create the base, then proceed with “Green (2000),” “Red (5000),” and “Cream (12000)” for sharpening.
Using fewer types of sharpening stones and taking less time per step results in less deformation of the stones and a faster, more even sharpening surface, leading to a cleaner finish.

3. Thoroughly rinsing away residue from the previous step is crucial.
When switching grinding stones and refining the blade, it is essential to thoroughly rinse away residue from the previous step.
Simply rinsing the blade or hands is insufficient; pay attention to areas such as between the fingers and nails, as well as any residue on the blade surface, and rinse thoroughly with water.

Tips: The coarseness of the whetstone surface affects the surface strength of the whetstone, as well as the finish and sharpening feel of the blade.
The surface of the finishing whetstone must be polished to a mirror finish.
When correcting the finishing stone, we recommend either using a finer stone (1000 or higher) to grind and correct it,
combining the “Naoru” stone corrector with “correction powder (fine grade),”
or using the ‘Kumbo’ or “Glass Corrector” knife stone corrector.
Note that if the grinding stone is dry, it may stick and prevent smooth correction.
Please soak it in water for 2–3 minutes before correction.
