Super Heavy Plugging Assist with "Cut Barb"
The single assist designed specifically for plugging with a thick shaft and wide gape, developed to target large bluefish, GT, and Tuna. This new barb shape, the CUT BARB, is a convex barb that is less likely to come off than a completely barbless barb, yet still allows for a smooth release (see 4th picture). The slightly curved design of the hook tip transmits hooking power directly to the hook and penetrates the hard upper jaw of the giant. The cord length is set to a standard length for each hook size to maximize the hooking rate. This model is designed to do catch & release and to ensure angler safety when casting.
